Week 22- Here comes the Classic!
That's a wrap on the last week of the tournament! All that's left of the 2024 Friday night bass contest is the Classic on September 6th! First place this week went to Jeff England and Justin Hefner. They weighed in 5 bass totaling 13.48 lbs! They had a great night, as they also got Big Fish! Their biggest bass was 4.72 lbs. Second place went to Alex Smeraglia and Johnny Hill, our current first place-holders for the tournament. They had 5 fish that weighed a total 11.79 lbs. They also came close to getting Big Fish with their 3.49 lb bass! Coming in the close third place was Lee Morgan and David McGinnis, who had 5 fish at 11.01 lbs total. Their biggest fish was 3.20 lbs, also a contender for Big Fish! Thanks for coming out this week. We hope you all have a great labor weekend (and week), and we will see you next Friday!

Week 21- The Bait Shop Bandits take home the gold!
What a good second-to-last tournament before the Classic takes place! Our fishermen did really well this week, some getting their best weights so far this competition season! First place went to Jonathan Harris and Fischer Houser, who had 5 fish total weighing 13.53 lbs! Their biggest was a 4.84 bass, which came really close to getting Big Fish! Not far behind was John Brasher who solo fished and got 13.25 lbs! He also got Big Fish with a 6.05 lb bass, one of the biggest of the season! Next was Mike Forrester and Chris Leathers who came in third place with their 5 fish. They had 12.03 lbs total! They also came close to getting Big Fish with their 3.01 lb bass! Great job guys! Next week is the last week of the bass tournament before the Classic Competition! Make sure to check below to see if your team is eligible for it!

Week 20 - Alex and Johnny take the lead again!
This week we had a looming threat of storms on the night of the tournament, but that didn't stop our fishermen! First place went to Johnny Hill and Alex Smeraglia who weighed in 5 fish at a whopping
16.43 lbs! They got Big Fish as well with their 5.24 lb bass. Mike Forrester and Chris Leathers came in a close second with 15.58 lbs. They also came close to getting Big Fish with a 3.95 lbs bass! Third place went to David McGinnis and Lee Morgan, whose 5 fish weighed a total 11.37 lbs. All of our fishermen did really well. Thanks to everyone for coming out this week. Week 19 - England and Hefner score first place!
Week 19 is complete! Everyone has been doing really well so far in the tournament, even despite the annoying weather that continues to persist. This week was a close one when it came to placements. We had a lot of big fish weighed in! First place went to Jeff England and Justin Hefner whose 5 fish weighed a total 15.97 lbs. They also got big fish with a 4.74 lb bass! Charlie Burns and Greg Lawson came in a close second place with 5 fish totaling 14.10 lbs. Third place was Sam Hartzog and Jonathan Brimer whose 5 fish weighed a total 11.91 lbs. They also came close to getting Big Fish with their 4.17 lb bass! John Brasher was also in the running for Big Fish with his 4.38 lb bass. Thank you to everyone who has been coming out! Week 17 - Johnny and Alex take the lead again!
This year has been unpredictable so far when it comes to the bass contest. We have been having more people show up to our Friday Night tournaments every week! This week we had 14 boats total, and most of the fishermen weighed in. First place went to Alex Smeraglia and Johnny Hill, whose 5 fish weighed a total 16.75 lbs. They also came close to getting Big Fish with their 4.63 lb bass! Second place went to David McGinnis and Lee Morgan, who had 5 fish that weighed 11.99 lbs altogether. Not far behind them was Jeff England and Justin Hefner, who had 5 fish and 11.39 lbs. Big Fish went to Mike and Tyler Wolfe (Wolfe Pack). They had a 4.79 lb bass! Week 16 - Wolfe Pack For the Win
That's a wrap on Week 16! This Friday our fishermen had to endure a very stormy night, but they still did very well! First place this week went to Mike and Chris Wolfe (2/3 of the Wolfe Pack). Their 5 fish weighed a total 16.22 lbs! They also got Big Fish with a 4.88 lb bass. Good job guys! Coming in at a close second was Johnny Hill and Alex Smeraglia, who weighed in 5 fish at 15.92 lbs. Third place went to Charlie Burns and Greg Lawson, who had 5 fish and 14.36 lbs! They also came really close to getting Big Fish with a 4.29 lb bass!

Week 15-First Place Tie?!?!
Week 15 was one of our most eventful tournament nights so far this season. Firstly, we had 15 boats enter! This has been our biggest turn out so far this tournament season, so thanks!
We also had a tie for first place! First place went to two teams, one team is Alex Smeraglia and Johnny Hill; the other is David McGinnis and Lee Morgan. The two teams tied for first place, both with 5 bass weighing in at 19.34 lbs total! We included a picture above with the teams showing off their fish.
Coming in next place, not too far behind first, was Zac Hall, whose 5 fish weighed a total 15.44 lbs. Mike Forrester and Scotty Lewis were close behind, with 5 fish at 13.84 lbs.
Big Fish went to David McGinnis and Lee Morgan, who had a 6.59 lb bass!
Honorable mentions to other biggest fish: Johnny Hill and Alex Smeraglia with a 5.86 lb bass, Chase Rodgers and Shaan Alauddin with a 5.01 lb bass, and Mike Forrester and Scotty Lewis with 4.13 lbs.

Week 12- Burns and Lawson on a winning streak!
For the second week in a row, our fishermen have all been catching good sized bags. This week every single participant weighed in! First place went to Charlie Burns and Greg Lawson, who have once again beat their record for weight this season! Their 5 fish weighed a total 19.29 lbs. Not far behind them was Alex Smeraglia and Johnny Hill. They got second place with 5 fish at 17.77 lbs total. Third place, and Big Fish, went to Zac Hall, who was fishin' solo this Friday and pulled through with a 6.93 lb bass (pictured above)! His 5 fish weighed a total 15.18 lbs. Week 11- Burns and Lawson take home the money
This week, we had some close scores; we had some big bags weighed in!
First place went to Charlie Burns and Greg Lawson, whose 5 fish weighed a total 18.74 lbs, their best weight so far this season! They also got the big fish place with a 4.97 lb bass. Second place went to Johnny Hill and Alex Smeraglia. Their 5 fish weighed 15.19 lbs total. Third place went to Mike Forrester and Chris Leathers, who had 5 fish at 15.15 lbs-only 0.04 lbs behind 2nd place! They almost got Big Fish, too, with a 4.29 lb bass.

Week 10- Three-week winning streak for Alex and Johnny!
Thank you to everyone who showed up last Friday for week 10 of the bass tournament! We had 12 boats total, made up of new and familiar faces. We always enjoy seeing fresh faces joining in on the fun that is the Lake Purdy bass contest!
This week was week 10 of the contest. Alex Smeraglia and Johnny Hill got their third first place in a row, with 5 fish that weighed a total 18.17 lbs. They got Big Fish as well with a 6.12 lb bass. Good job guys!
Second place went to our overall first-place team, David McGinnis and Lee Morgan. Their five bass weighed a total 12.29 lbs. They almost got Big Fish too with a 4.20 lb bass!
Coming close behind them, in third place, was Joseph Hall and Taylor Franklin. Their 5 fish weighed 11.05 lbs total.
Congrats and thank you to all our fishermen this week, we hope to see you next week! And to all the people joining in the past couple of weeks, thank you! Remember you must compete in 10 weeks to be eligible for the Classic Tournament. We're getting closer and closer to it!

There's no guarantee that our fisherman will stay dry during our Friday Night bass contests. However, they still show up and get the job done! This week was a solid week for our fishermen. Three different teams have 5 fish at a total weight of 9.21 lbs, with one team at 9.22 lbs!
First place went to Alex and Johnny 17.83 lbs. They got Big Fish as well with a 4.64 lb bass! Second place went to David McGinnis and Lee Morgan. Their 5 fish weighed a total 12.40 lbs. Lastly, third place went to John Brasher who had 5 fish at 12.15 lbs.

Week 8-Johnny and Alex break the record of the season once again
Our fishermen did so well this week! Every team weighed in for the first time; those bass were bitin'! There was a significant chance of rain Friday night, but our fishermen persisted and caught some big bags.
Johnny Hill and Alex Smeraglia came in first place, breaking the season's record once again. Their 5 fish weighed a whopping 25.56 lbs! Their biggest bass ws 6.49 lbs, which won the Big Fish place. Second place went to David McGinnis and Lee Morgan, who are still leading the competition in first place with 100 points! Their 5 fish weighed a total 14.41 lbs! Coming in close behind them were Charlie Burns and Greg Lawson, whose 5 fish weighed 12.99 lbs. They came close to getting the Big Fish place too, as their biggest was 5.52 lbs! Week 7- Wolfe pack on top, moving up the ranks!
That's a wrap on week 7 of the bass tournament! On Friday the weather could not make up its mind. Throughout the day, it had been on and off sprinkling here at the lake. At night though, there were thankfully no storms happening, but it did rain on the fishermen a little. That didn't stop them from weighing in their bags, though!
First place went to David McGinnis and Lee Morgan, who are still strong in their first place spot. Their 5 fish weighed a total 13.56 lbs! They got Big Fish, too, with a 4.24 lb bass.
Second place went to Johnny Hill, whose 5 fish weighed 10.72 lbs. Right behind him, with a difference of 0.09 lbs, were Tyler and Mike Wolfe. Their 5 fish weighed 10.63 lbs.
This week, we saw a significant change in placements across the board. The Wolfes (Tyler, Mike, and Chris) are taking the second place spot with Alex Smeraglia and Johnny Hill right behind them in 3rd place on the overall rankings. As we continue through the season, we are going to see more and more changes in what place everyone is in, just like this week! Week 6- Alex and Johnny take the lead with the biggest bag yet!
Week 6 is done! This week has been stormy and windy, but our fishermen still got through! The storms of this week allowed the bass fishermen to fish in a chilly Friday-night air, which hopefully helped the huge weights that were caught this night.
The biggest bag caught so far this season was done by Johnny Hill and Alex Smeraglia. They came in first place Friday night with 5 fish weighing a whopping 19.20 lbs!
Alex and Johnny also got the Big Fish placement with a 6.92 lb bass! This was also the biggest fish caught in the tournament so far this season. Coming close to this weight, though, was the Wolfe Pack (Mike, Tyler, and Chris Wolfe) with a 6.17 lb bass on week 1.
Second place went to Mike and Chris Wolfe (Wolfe Pack), who got their own biggest combined weight of the season so far. Their 5 fish weighed a total 12.86 lbs.
Coming close behind with a difference of a little less than a pound was Mike Forrester and Chris Leathers, whose 5 fish weighed a combined 11.90 lbs. As we get more and more into the season, we are starting to see bigger and bigger fish being caught. We want to congratulate and thank all the guys who have been doing our tournaments! You are all doing great, and we'll see you next Friday for week 7 of the bass contest!

Week 5 - The Bait Shop Bandits heisted the lead from the competition Friday Night and took home the loot!
Week 5 of the Friday Night Bass Contest at Lake Purdy brought another round of thrilling competition and impressive catches as anglers battled it out on the water. Despite the challenges posed by post-spawn conditions, our dedicated anglers showcased their skills and determination, making for an exciting night of fishing.
Congratulations to the Bait Shop Bandits for claiming 1st place this week with a solid catch of 9.47lbs for 5 fish. Their strategic approach and perseverance paid off, earning them a well-deserved victory in a field of tough competition.
Close behind in 2nd place were Lee Morgan & David McGinnis, who continue to impress with a strong showing of 9.34lbs. With this performance, they also take the lead in points going into Week 6, setting the stage for an exciting showdown in the weeks to come.
Securing 3rd place honors were Johnny Hill & Alex Smeraglia, who brought in a respectable catch of 9.06lbs. Their determination was further rewarded as they also landed the title of Big Fish with a impressive 3.18lb bass.
The fishing may have been tough throughout the night, but our anglers persevered, demonstrating their resilience and skill on the water. As we look ahead to Week 6, anticipation builds for the post-spawn funk to clear up, paving the way for even better bags and fiercer competition.
Will Lee & David maintain their lead, or will the Wolf Pack or Alex & Johnny turn up the heat and shake up the standings? Only time will tell as the Friday Night Bass Contest at Lake Purdy continues to unfold, offering anglers the chance to showcase their talents and compete for glory on the water.
