5/14/24 - Fishing Report

As we approach the end of May and move into June, fishing enthusiasts should head over to Lake Purdy in Birmingham, AL.

The water temperature is around 76-80 degrees, which means that the bass are moving out deep and the schooling begins.

The water is up full pool and the grass is grown in, providing a great opportunity for a top-water bite in the shallows.

Although crappie can be a little challenging to pattern, anglers can still spot them on the graph and sometimes they cooperate. Catfish and shellcraker are also biting well and can make for a delicious fish fry this time of year!
