Classic Tournament September 4th

Jeff England and Tony Marlowe win

The Classic on September 4th was the season ending, invitation only, tournament for the eleven teams who fished at least 10 contest since the opening contest the first Friday in April. Jeff England and Tony Marlowe capped their great season by catching the big fish of the night, 2.54 lbs and the top total weight of 8 lbs.  The purse of $685 for the evening brought their season total winnings to $2,187! This team, pictured above, won 9 contest of the 17 they fished and they also caught the big fish 6 times including the biggest tournament fish of 2015 of 7.44 lbs on July 10th.  Mike Forrester and Chris Leathers took second, just missing out on the big money with a big fish of 2.45 lb and 7.91 total weight.  Richard Williamson and Terry Wood took third with 6.39 lb and the third place prize was enough to triple their season winnings.  The final season winnings and statistics are presented in the table below.

Week 22
Jeff England wins last Friday Night Tournament of 2015

Philip England got the Big Fish of 5.44 lbs (pictured above) and top total weight of 10.55 lbs in the last regular Friday night tournament of the season on August 28.  For Jeff and his partner Tony Marlow this was their 8th win of the season earning a total $1502. Roger Williamson and Mitchell Clay secured their season points championship with their second place weight of 7.49 lbs.  Mike Forrester captured third with 6.64 lbs.
Week 21
Eddie Buzbee and Phillip Hyche Get First win of the season

Mike Forrester and Chris Leathers (pictured above) caught the Big Fish of week 21 and just missed out getting their first victory of the season with a total weight of 7.35 lb.  They were edged out by Phillip Hyche and Eddie Buzbee who weighed in 7.43 lbs for their first victory of 2015. Roger Williamson and John Williamson were third with 7.31 lbs.  This was enough to clinch first place in the season points championship for Roger Williamson and his regular partner Mitchell Clay with one week left in the regular season.
Week 20

John Richardson and Katy Pearson get first win August 14

John Richardson and Katy Pearson caught the Big Fish of Week 20, a 5.90 lb Large mouth.  That fish was enough to give them their first win of the season and first place money with a total weight of 9.55 lb with only three fish.  Jeff England and Tony Marlowe continued their pursuit the season points championship by finishing 2nd with a total weight of 8.45 lbs.  Mike Wolfe and Billy Milton took third with 8.23 lbs bringing their season winnings to $1,086.  Summarized below are the season totals for the top 23 teams in 2015.
Week 19

England and Marlowe still in the running for season points championship with win August 7

Jeff England and Tony Marlowe Added $136 to their season leading money winnings of $1,358.  They had the Big Fish of the night, 4.23 lbs and the most total weight  of 11.98 lbs for the five fish limit. Jason Whitson and Ben Jones finished close behind in second with 11.38 lbs.  That was their best finish of the season.  Mike Wolfe and Billy Milton had 7.36 lbs to finish third.

Week 18

Mike Wolfe and Billy Milton win easy putting heat on leaders!

Mike Wolfe and Billy Milton caught their limit of 5 nice bass including the big bass of the night, 3.7 lbs.  Their total weight of 12.05 lbs won them $170 for week 18.  Second place went to Jeff England and his son Aaron with a limit of 9.35 lbs.  And third went to warm water fishermen, Ben Jones and Todd Skinner with 8.71 lbs

Week 17
Roger Williamson and Mitchell Clay solidify series lead.

Season Points leaders Roger Williamson and Mitchell Clay move closer to their first season championship with a slim win in Week 17.  Teir total weight of 9.48 lbs was only .02 lbs ahead of Mike Forrester and Chris Leathers who were looking for thier first win of the season.  Jeff England and Tony Marlowe captured third with 5 fish weighing 8.91 lbs.  Billy Milton and Mike Wolfe took home some money with the big fish of the night, 5.22 lbs.  But they could only land one other keeper which gave them only 6.54 lbs for total weight which was only good enough for 5th place overall.

Week 16

Mike Wolfe and Billy Milton back to their winning ways!

Perfect attendance pays off for Mike Wolfe and Billy Milton as they won week 16 with a total weight of 10.25 lbs.   Their big fish of 3.59 lbs and three solid keepers gave them an easy win and $187 winnings to increase their season total to $815. Philip Hyche and Eddie Buzbee took second place with five fish weighing 7.21 lbs.  This a veteran team which has had a slow start this season.  Previous to this week's second place showing their average sack has only been 2.5  lbs.  This statistic is probably low because some teams don't weigh in if they don't think they will be in contention for prize money.   Be sure to weigh in every week because you get season championship points for every fish weighed in and you will also have a more realistic record of how you performed for the season.  Below you will see the twenty top teams through week 15.  This chart has not incorporated the results from week 16 which is discussed above.

Week 15

England and Marlowe win again!

Jeff England caught a 7.44 lb large mouth which helped him and his partner, Tony Marlowe, win first place and $153 for Week 15.  Bass fishing at night is picking as the summer heat is setting in.  Almost all the teams fishing July 10th weighed in a limit of 5 fish.  But the big fish are still hard to come by.  Second place went to Season series leader Roger Williamson fishing with his father John Williamson.  Keeping the winnings in the family brother Richardson Williamson and his partner Terry Wood got third place with 6.91 lbs.

Week 14

Jeff England returns to winners circle with new partner, Tony Marlowe

Billy Milton, pictured above, got the prize for big bass in week 14, 4.88 lbs.  But Jeff England with a new partner, Tony Marlowe, were the winners with a total weight of 9.14lbs.  That was 2 lbs better than the second place team of Roger Williamson and Mitchell Clay.  Billy Miltons's big bass was enough to give him and his partner, Mike Wolfe, third place, 6.40lbs with only 3 fish weighed in.

Week 13
Jonathan McMillen and Brandon Brashear are on a roll
Win two weeks in row

Jonathan McMillen and Brandon Brashear have found a summer pattern which was good enough to win both Week 12 and Week 13 in the Friday Night Bass contest.  Their winning weights were 7.37 lbs and 9.84 respectively.  These winning weights were considerably under the best stringer of last season, Rob Smith and Zac Davis's 18.47 lbs. pictured above.
Also winning money over the last two weeks were Jason Whitson whose 4.02 lb bass got the big fish prize in Week 13.  Jason Priecko and Chris Hallman just missed winning in Week 12, only .11 lbs short of first.  Robert Tunnell and Autrey McCloud finished in the money in their first tournament of the season, capturing 3rd in Week 12.

Williamson and Clay Win week 11 and solidify their lead in the season points race

Roger Wiliiamson and Mitchell Clay Stretched their season points lead to 20 points with a slim victory over Mike Wolfe and Billy Milton in Week 11.  Their 5 fish limit weighed 7.47 lb, just ahead of Wolfe and Milton who had the big fish of the night (2.48 lbs) and a total weight of 7.34 lbs for 4 fish.  They just could not find that last keeper of 12 inches or better which would have put them over the top.  Roger Williamson's brother Richard Williamson with his partner Terry Wood captured third with a 5 fish limit of 6.26 lbs.  They missed big fish by only 3/100th of a pound.  It was probably the toughest Friday of the year as the big large mouth bass were hard to find as Lake Purdy shifts into hot summer patterns.

Larry Nix gets Big Fish for week 10 and $104. Mike Wolfe and Billy Milton win again

Pictured above is Larry Nix with his 4.12 lb Big Bass for week 10.  With his partner, Terry Stephenson, they also took 3rd place and $104.  Biggest pay check went to Mike Wolfe and Billy Milton who followed up last week's win with their second win and $156 more toward their season total of $484.  David Smith and Garrett Langer got second place and raised their winnings to $279 while fishing in only 4 contest so far in the 2015 season.  The 2015 season is only halfway through so there is still time for a new team to enter this weekend and still qualify for the season ending classic where the big money is earned.

Mike Wolfe and Billy Milton get Big Bass and first win of 2015 season

Mike Wolfe got the Big Bass of the season so far, 6.68 lb.  Along with his partner, Billy Milton, their total weight for 3 fish was 9.73 lbs. good enough for their first win of the season.  Second place went to the season leading points team of Roger Williamson and Mitchell Clay.  Their 5 fish limit weighed 7.22 pounds just .02 lbs ahead of Mike Forrester and Chris Leathers who captured third place.  Jason Priecko and Chris Hellman also caught their limit of 5 fish but finished just out of the money in fourth.

Jeff England with Tim Keenan get narrow victory in week 8

Jeff England and Tim Keenan won week 8 with a total weight of 10.18 pounds for their 5 fish limit on May 22.   Billy Milton and Mike Wolfe got the big fish of the night, 3.82 lbs and were only .19 lbs shy of winning their first tournament of the season. New comers, Robert and Blake Combs captured 3rd place in their first tournament of the season only .9 lbs out of first.

Roger Willamson and Mitchell Clay win again in Week 7

Roger Williamson and Mitchell Clay took first place money with a limit of 9.23 lbs on May 15th, Week 7.  But Big Fish prize went to Kevin Reager and Matt Bryant, pictured above, with a 4 lb 16 oz large mouth.  They only had 4 fish and finished in 4th place only .2 lbs out of third place which was captured by John Brasher fishing alone for the evening.  Billy Milton and Mike Wolfe got second with 8.95 lbs for their best showing of the season.

Jeff England gets 2nd win of Early 2015 Season

Sixteen boats were entered in Week 5.  The temperatures dropped through the night and made for a tough night for the contestants.  Jeff England got his second victory of the season with a mere 7.89 lbs for 5 fish, the lowest winning weight of the season.  He had to share the winners purse with Eddie Buzbee and Philip Hyche who took second with 7.01 lbs including the big fish of the night 3.16 lbs.  Rob Smith and Zac Davis finished third with 6.16 ls and fourth place went to series point leaders, Roger Williamson fishing with his dad, John Williamson 5.95 lbs.

The Coaches win Week 4 with 11.28 lbs

High School football coaches, David Smith and Garrett Langer won week four of the Friday NIght Bass Tournament with a solid limit of 11.28 lbs.  Last week's winner, Jeff England and his new partner, Tim Keenan took second with 9.37 lbs.  Roger Williamson and Mitchell Clay, the series points leaders, took third with 8.08 lbs.  The Big Fish for the night was 5.25 lbs and it paid $60 to Jessica Hughes and Jonathan McMillen pictured below.

Lake Purdy All Star, Jeff England, wins week 3

Jeff England has won more Lake Purdy contest than anyone.  Friday, April 17th, he returned to his winning ways with a five fish limit of 12.55 lbs and the big bass of the evening of 5lbs.  David Smith and Garrett Langer finished second with  nearly a 10 lb limit of 5 bass.  and Rob Smith and Zac Davis had the second biggest bass of the night and a total weight of 8.73 lbs to edge into 3rd place.

First week of the 2015 Friday night series capture by Roger Williamson and Mitchell Clay

Seventeen boats showed up for the regular Friday night contest on Good Friday.  Clint Wallace and his son, Austin (pictured above) won with a total weight of 19.01 lbs for 5 fish.  They caught the two, 5 lb bass pictured above before dark in the grass with spinnerbaits and chatterbaits.  They picked up the other 3 keepers in the main lake with a big bass jig after dark.  But they didn't get the big fish of the night.  That honor, a 6.80 lb largemouth, went to Phillip Hyche (pictured below) fishing with Eddie Buzbee.  That lunker helped them capture 2nd place ($170) with a total weight of 10.02 lbs.  Third went to Garrett Langer and partner with 7.41 lbs. Fourth went to new participants, Race Harrison and Chris Lindsey, with 7.18 lbs. Join in the fun next Friday night.  All are welcome and boats are half price for the contest.  Get the details by clicking this link, Friday night tournament.
